Without a doubt, France's alluring Loire Valley has captured the imagination of many and maybe is on your travel bucket list too. Now you have the opportunity to join Beki Haley and Kinga Bledsoe (Nichols) in a retreat that will take place in this picturesque region that hosts over 300 castles and a vibrant history.
Our retreat will start in beautiful Paris, where you will enjoy a historical tour of the city, a lunch cruise, and a visit to the jewelry museum, which has France's most extensive collection. Besides the great 19th-century jewelry creators like Monvel, Fouquet, Gaillard, etc., you will see the world's second-most important collection of Rene Lalique jewelry.
We will leave Paris to visit the Palace of Versailles, which served as the main residence for the French kings from Louis XIV to Louis XVI. You will get to see the famous Hall of Mirrors with its 357 mirrors, the King's Apartment, the Royal Chapel, and the Gardens of Versailles. The gardens are considered the most spectacular in the world, featuring 372 statues, 55 water features, and 600 fountains.
After enriching experiences in Versailles, we'll venture to St Malo, a tranquil coastal town with a captivating past as the haven of pirates and corsairs in the 16th and 17th centuries. This fortified town has evolved into a popular seaside resort on the Emerald Coast, offering a peaceful respite from the urban hustle. Our accommodation, a hotel with an indoor pool and a top spa center, will provide the ideal setting for you to relax and boost your energy.
Step into history with a day trip to the magnificent Mont Saint Michel. This town, with the St Michel Abbey as its centerpiece, is a living testament to the past. Its history, dating back over 1300 years, was shaped when the Archangel Michael appeared to St Aubert in a dream, commissioning him to build a sanctuary in his honor.
Over time, Mont Saint-Michel has evolved into one of Europe's most important pilgrimage sites. Its cultural and religious value is so profound that it has been enshrined on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List.
Our adventure will take us to the captivating Loire Valley, renowned for its majestic castles with rich histories, charming towns, beautiful landscapes, excellent vineyards, and delightful local cuisine.
If you've never stayed in a castle before, now is your chance, as we will spend the night at a stunning castle in the Loire Valley where you'll be treated like royalty.
We will explore some of France's magnificent castles in the following days, such as Chambord, Villandry, Fontainebleau, and Chantilly.
The retreat will end with a return to Paris and a farewell dinner.
During the retreat, you will create two great projects: the Angelique Necklace and Mont St Michel Necklace, meticulously crafted by Beki Haley and Kinga Bledsoe (Nichols).
